Yes. Antihistamines can block skin reactions and cause false negatives. Most standard antihistamines should be stopped 5 to 7 full days before skin prick testing. Call us before the visit if you take allergy medicine, cold medicine, sleep aids, stomach medicine, psychiatric medication, or any medication you are unsure about. Do not stop important medications without guidance.
